Privacy Policy

At Plum, integrity and responsibility are at the center of all we do.  We take protecting your data and your privacy very seriously. 

During the course of normal business operations, we may collect via paper or electronic means, in person, over the phone or via any other form of communication, non-public personal information  about you, or your insureds or applicants.  Plum does not disclose any non-public information about you, your insureds or applicants to anyone except as necessary in order to provide our products and/or services to you.  We collect and handle non-public personal information on a "need to know" basis and only when necessary to provide you with insurance services. 

The types of data that we collect vary but typically include name, physical/mailing address, email address, telephone number, and IP address but other information may be needed depending on the type of insurance required.   The sources of data are typically applications, forms, or proposals for insurance, information we receive from prior or current insurance carriers in the form of loss runs or copies of insurance policies, inspections, audits and insurance professionals that are involved in the transaction.

Plum shall strive and take every preventive measure to maintain adequate procedural, physical and technical security to avert any loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure or modification of the non-personal public information we collect and handle.

As and when permitted by law, we may disclose non-public personal information about you to third-parties such as insurance companies and underwriters, insurance agents and brokers, regulators, state insurance authorities, premium finance providers, and other insurance related vendors.  

Plum will retain your information for the period of time stipulated by law, regulators and insurance authorities.

From time to time, we may revise this Privacy Policy Statement, and we will update the “Posted On” date above accordingly for you to know when any changes have been made. 

 DO NOT TRACK (DNT) POLICY

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals. Plum does not  track its visitors over time and does not use DNT signals.
